Together, we saved Toondah Harbour

… and we have won this battle because of the sustained pressure and opposition from everyday Australians!

On Thursday, 18th April 2024, Federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek announced that Walker Corporation’s destructive proposed real estate project in the precious wetlands at Toondah Harbour has been withdrawn.

For thousands of Australians, tears will flow alongside champagne at the news, after over a decade of grassroots campaigning. To everyone of the tens of thousands of people who has taken action in this journey, thank you!

Together, we saved Toondah Harbour!

But this is just the start!

We should never have had to fight for decades in the first place.

The destructive plans for Toondah Harbour only progressed this far and this stubbornly because Australia’s nature laws are broken. Until we fix these laws, threatened birds and the nature we love remains at risk across the country.

Together we saved Toondah Harbour, and together we can save all the birds you love!
